Go West Coast!
In 1992 I was walking the Perth river foreshore with growing disquiet. All noise was absent. Not a car, not a laugh, not a grass blower’s incessant rant could be heard. All I could hear was the wind through the trees. Even the birds were silent. I wondered… had an atomic bomb blast taken all human life and I was the only life left on the planet? A roar erupted from a house close by and I remembered: AFL grand final. We won of course. Good luck tomorrow West Coast. No walks for me this time – I will be watching you win.
