Week’s reflection – Increasing self respect

How have you gone this week?  Have there been times when you wanted things to be different, and suffered the pain of disappointment, anger, frustration and the like?

What did you do?

Did you run from the pain,  ruminating on what you wanted,  saying “its unfair” and entering into an internal conversation of what should have happened – with you as the hero, obviously?

Or,

Did you recognise the pain, uncomfortable as it was, and stopped all thought for a time? Then when the pain dropped to a low enough level, reflected on what just happened, refocused on the end goal and planned another approach?

Which approach do you think is more productive? Which increases your self respect?
